Lifeguards

The primary responsibility as a lifeguard is to prevent drowning and other injuries from occurring. Candidates must be able to ensure the safety of patrons by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors. This person will need to be able to solve on-the-job issues by utilizing effective critical thinking and decision making skills and possess the ability to work with diverse populations. Lifeguards must be able to enforce pool policies and be able to communicate effectively why policies are in place.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Required
  • Current CPR/ First Aid/AED Certifications Required
  • Preferably 10-15 hours of availability per week
  • If you are not currently Red Cross Lifeguard and CPR/ First Aid/AED certified, classes will be available at the MAC after opening

Swim Instructors

We are looking to hire swim instructor to help children and adults of all ages develop proper swimming techniques and skills. The swim instructors' responsibilities include evaluating each student’s performance during swim sessions and providing feedback, completing attendance, progress, and accident reports, and ensuring that all swimming aids and equipment are in good working order. You should also be able to assist students with special needs to socialize with other students.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Sound knowledge of proper swimming techniques and water safety rules
  • Strong swimming abilities
  • Effective communication skills
  • Passionate and enthusiastic
  • Current CPR/ First Aid/AED Certifications preferred but not required

Fitness Class Instructor or Personal Trainer

A fitness instructor or personal trainer should be able to demonstrate or explain how to perform various exercises and routines to minimize injuries and improve fitness. Watch clients do exercises to ensure that they are using the correct technique. Provide options during workouts to help clients feel successful and encourage them to achieve their fitness goals. Create tailored fitness plans for individuals or groups based on their fitness goals and physical needs. Lead inductions and ‘how-to’ sessions for new members. Assist in maintaining equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Passionate and enthusiastic for fitness and health
  • Effective communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills to connect with members and to promote classes and services
  • Experience in the field required, certification preferred
  • If you are not currently Red Cross CPR/ First Aid/AED certified, classes will be available at the MAC
